Real Madrid wonderkid Odegaard could leave after failing to make the grade in Spain.

And Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly told club chiefs to beat Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal to his signing.

Odegaard joined Madrid in 2015 at the age of 16, signing for £4.1million, but has only played one competitive game for the Spanish giants.

He has subsequently been sent out on loan to SC Heerenveen, Vitesse and Real Sociedad, playing 97 league games across the three loan spells.

However, Madrid are still unwilling to let him leave on the cheap, as they believe he has a strong future at the club.

But with Pep Guardiola plotting a move for the youngster as a replacement for David Silva.

Silva will be leaving City at the end of this season, and Guardiola is currently looking for a long-term replacement for the veteran Spaniard.

Despite having Phil Foden currently waiting for a shot in the first-team, City are reportedly prepared to spend big on Odegaard.

As a result, United boss Solskjaer has told club chiefs to not let Odegaard slip through their fingers and make a move as soon as possible.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also reportedly tracking the midfielder, with the latter eyeing him as a replacement for Mesut Ozil.

The German playmaker will be offered to clubs in January after a torrid start to the season.

Ozil has played just 71 minutes of league football this season – against Leicester – and was left out of the team entirely for games against Newcastle, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

And Emery is apparently looking at Odegaard as a long-term replacement for the disappointing midfielder.

Ozil is currently the highest-paid player at Arsenal, earning £350,000-per-week, and club chiefs are willing to let him go in order to fund Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s new contract.

Odegaard is currently at Sociedad and has made a strong start to the season, scoring twice in six games.

One particular highlight came against Atletico Madrid, where he scored and was named man-of-the-match in his side’s 2-0 win.
