Maguire is the subject of interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City this summer after impressing for Leicester and England.

And, according to the Mirror, Leicester will honour a deal Maguire had with the owner who tragically died in October last year during the Leicester helicopter crash.

And with United prepared to pay up to £90m for the centre-back, they look set to beat rivals City who are only ready to go as high as £80m.

Leicester are desperate to keep Maguire, who they signed from Hull for £18m, but will sell him to the highest bidder this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United then are set to benefit from Maguire’s deal, as he agreed with Mr Srivaddhanaprabha that he could leave this summer.

United are set for a big overhaul this summer with Solskjaer being given around £200m to spend, while City are on the lookout for new blood and need to replace Vincent Kompany.

United have so far only landed Daniel James from Swansea and want Sean Longstaff from Newcastle, but a deal for Maguire would beat the transfer record for a defender, set by Liverpool when they signed Virgil van Dijk.

Maguire has blossomed at Leicester and has become England’s first choice defender under Gareth Southgate.

His composure on the ball and power in both boxes has made him stand out as one of the best in his position in England.

And now a move to one of the top clubs beckons. Maguire, 26, joined Leicester in 2017 from Hull and came up through the ranks at Sheffield United.

He now has 20 England caps, following the third place playoff in the UEFA Nations League, after making his debut just two years ago.

United have also been linked with Matthijs de Ligt and more recently Issa Diop however as they try and find the answer to their defensive woes.

De Ligt, however, is also wanted by Barcelona and PSG, while West Ham are unlikely to sell Diop after just one season.

Leicester however have begun looking for replacements for Maguire and are eyeing a deal for James Tarkowski if he does go.
